The Borrego Water Exchange
(BWX) has announced that an owner of citrus farmland in Borrego has agreed
to execute a conservation easement with BWX that will result in fallowing
the land in question. For one year, the BWX will have the right to sell
Permanent Water Credits through incremental conveyance of this easement in
the form of credits available to any party seeking mitigation or groundwater
preservation. Time is of the essence. The unused portion of the
easement will revert back to the owner in one year.
Contact Lane Sharman at the BWX (858-755-2868) or visit the BWX web site at
http://www.borregowaterexchange.com to learn more and reserve your
credits now. Go aquifer neutral in the coming year with just a few BWX
credits. Water mitigation and conservation is a solid investment in the
future of the Borrego Valley.
